Why Join Beyt Tikkun?

Beyt Tikkun is more than a synagogue—it is a spiritual home for people seeking meaning, justice, and connection in a fractured world.

Through hybrid worship, learning, and community life, you can pray, study, and act alongside others whether you join us in person or online. We are committed to Judaism Beyond Zionism—a Judaism that centers liberation, solidarity with Palestinians, and the ongoing work of healing historical trauma. What binds us is not geography, but shared values: love of the stranger, moral courage, spiritual depth, and a commitment to collective liberation.

When you join Beyt Tikkun, you become part of a caring, prophetic community that shows up—for one another, for those most impacted by injustice, and for the world we are trying to heal.

Led by Rabbi Cat Zavis, Beyt Tikkun offers spiritual care, prophetic teaching, and meaningful ritual grounded in a Judaism that speaks to our time. You can learn more about Rabbi Cat here.

Membership Fees

We believe our clergy, musicians, and staff deserve living wages as part of our commitment to economic justice. As an anti-zionist synagogue, we do not receive funding from mainstream Jewish institutions and rely on membership dues and community donations to sustain our work.

Our actual cost is about $2,400 per member each year. Our sliding-scale membership allows those with greater financial flexibility to help support a community that remains accessible to others. Learn more about how our sliding scale works and how to choose a tier that's right for you here.

A note on accessible pricing: If our minimum membership of $36/month ($432/year) is not affordable, you may contribute as little as $18/month ($216/year). If that is still out of reach, please email lia@beyttikkun.org. We are committed to No One Turned Away for Lack of Funds and will work with you to ensure membership is accessible.

Money is not our bottom line. Our Dream . . . A world based on a New Bottom Line.

We believe that a world guided by a New Bottom Line is the most rational and spiritually grounded way to reshape the social structures that govern our lives.

A New Bottom Line calls us to evaluate our institutions and systems — government, economic, education, media, law enforcement, health care, environment, and culture — not by the power they wield or profit they garner, but by the degree to which they uphold human dignity, belonging, and the sacredness of all people, the extent to which everyone’s needs are met, and by how well they protect the life support systems of our planet and ensure that all living beings thrive.

We call this a New Bottom Line – Caring for Each Other and Caring for the Planet.
