In this weekβs Action for Peace, we focus on efforts to:
π Stop war with Iran and prevent further escalation
π£ Block weapons transfers fueling violence in Gaza
π©ββοΈ Take action to free Dr. Abu Safiya
π« Stop the use of cluster munitions
β’οΈ Prevent a new nuclear arms race
Take Action
π STOP WAR WITH IRAN
Congress must assert its constitutional authority and prevent another
catastrophic war. Sign on to demand a War Powers Resolution to stop
unauthorized military action against Iran.
π Tell Congress: No War with Iran
π£ PASS THE BLOCK THE BOMBS ACT
The Block the Bombs Act would prohibit the transfer of specific U.S. weapons
Amnesty International has documented being used to kill and maim
Palestinian families. Congress must stop these arms sales now.
π Urge your lawmakers to support the Block the Bombs Act
π©ββοΈ TELL THE AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION: FREE DR.
HUSSAM ABU SAFIYA
Health Care Workers for Palestine Chicago and the U.S. Palestine Community
Network are pressing the American Medical Association to act for the release
of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya. Medical professionals β and all of us β must
defend medical neutrality and human rights. Please share with doctors,
nurses, mental health professionals, and allied health workers in your
networks.
π Sign the letter to the AMA Board of Trustees
π« STOP THE PENTAGON'S CLUSTER BOMB DEAL
Reports reveal a $210 million deal between the Pentagon and an Israeli
government-owned weapons firm for advanced cluster munitions β weapons
widely condemned for their indiscriminate harm to civilians.
π Tell the Pentagon: No cluster munitions deal
β’οΈ PREVENT A NEW NUCLEAR ARMS RACE
On February 5, 2026, the New START treaty expired β ending the last
binding limits on U.S. and Russian nuclear arsenals. Congress must demand
negotiations to reduce nuclear weapons, block nuclear test explosions, and
reject any expansion of the U.S. arsenal.
π Tell Congress: Prevent a new nuclear arms race
