DESCRIPTION:Join Beyt Tikkun and Jews on Ohlone Land  (JOOL) for a special Havdalah ceremony at the sacred West Berkeley Shellmound—now officially being returned to Indigenous stewardship. \n📅 Date: Saturday\, August 30th⏰ Time: Gather at 8:10pm; Ritual at 8:20pm 📍 Location: West Berkeley Shellmound: 1920 Fourth Street\, Huichin (Berkeley\, CA)✅ Cost: Free; No registration necessary - Just show up! \nAccessibility: We will gather outside; Wheelchair Accessible; Masks Optional  \nIn March 2024\, the City of Berkeley announced that the land at 1920 Fourth Street will be transferred to the Sogorea Te’ Land Trust on behalf of the Confederated Villages of Lisjan Nation-  righting a historic wrong and rematriating the site to its original caretakers\, the Ohlone people. \nThough this is a major victory\, the cultural center and gathering space have not yet been built. At the invitation of Corrina Gould\, spokesperson for the Confederated Villages of Lisjan\, JOOL began celebrating Havdalah at the West Berkeley Shellmound in the summer of 2021. JOOL continues to bring people to the site to mark sacred time\, share its powerful story\, and invite community members to support Sogorea Te’ in this new chapter of healing and restoration. \nTogether\, we’ll close Shabbat with ritual and reflection\, learn about the ongoing vision for the West Berkeley Shellmound\, and explore ways to stay engaged\, including supporting Sogorea Te’ Land Trust. \nQuestions or accessibility needs? DESCRIPTION:📅 Date: Saturday\, June 21 \n⏰ Time: We'll begin at 7:00pm with a potluck and conversation. The Havdalah ritual will follow around 8:30. \n📍 Location: At Rabbi Cat’s home in Oakland about 0.5 miles from MacArthur BART. The exact address will be shared upon registration. (Registration link coming soon!) \nJoin us for an evening of connection\, community\, and ritual as we mark the transition from Shabbat into the new week. We’ll gather in a warm\, welcoming\, and radically antizionist Jewish space to share food\, music\, and conversation\, weaving together heart\, spirit\, and justice. The evening will begin with a potluck and time to connect—through song and conversation— followed by a Havdalah ritual to gently close Shabbat and welcome the week ahead. Whether you're a longtime part of the community or joining us for the first time\, this is a space to be nourished\, inspired\, and held. \nAccessibility: \n\nWe may gather outdoors (weather permitting); please dress accordingly\nIndoor and outdoor space available for eating\nMasking optional\nAir filter provided; windows can be opened on request\nNot wheelchair accessible—4 steps into the home\, 4 to the backyard\nSeating includes couches\, chairs\, and floor pillows\nPlease avoid scented products\nNo shoes indoors\, if possible\nA cat lives in the home; A retriever/lab lives in the home (but will not be in our space\, unless all guests are okay with his presence!)\n\nPlease bring:🥗 A vegan & gluten-free dish to share.🎸 A musical instrument or song to share (optional)🧥 Layers to keep warm if we are outside \nQuestions or accessibility needs?
