Beyt Tikkun will celebrate Tu B’Shvat (the Jewish environmental holiday) from 6 to 7 pm Pacific Time this Sunday (Feb 5) with a Tu B’Shvat Seder (on zoom only)
We are aware that the celebration of the environment has been turned into a feel-good event rather than mobilizing to address the actual crisis of our environment that gets more and more dangerous every year. So this year, while following some of the traditions, we will put more emphasis on the fundamental changes that are needed to protect the environment.
Our tradition is to have the following fruit:
Don’t worry if you don’t have these fruits or juices or wines–even without them, this ceremony and the explanations by Rabbi Lerner and Rabbi Zavis will make it an hour well spent.
