Shabbat Services and & Torah Study:Lech Lecha Saturday, Nov. 9th
Emeryville, CA & online
9:30am pt Shabbat service // 10:30am pt Torah study
{You can watch Rabbi Cat’s musings on the election and Shabbat invite here.}
We will pray, cry, sing, dance, and study the parsha Lech Lecha, when God tells Moses to “go to yourself.” Leave your father’s home, leave your community, and forge a new path for a new future for you and your offspring. And Abraham did so. Are we willing to leave behind the past idolatry on which our country was built and forge a new path? How might we do so? Can we take responsibility for the injustices of the past and build a future on justice and liberation for all? Being alive is truly miraculous. This is our time. We are all here for a reason. How will we show up and meet this moment? Let’s start by being together in a beloved community to nourish ourselves and dream of a future where everyone is nurtured and held in beloved communities.
You can join us either in person or on Zoom for Shabbat services and/or Torah study. If you are in the Bay Area, we’d love to have you join us in person. After Torah study, we enjoy a vegetarian potluck meal together and have an opportunity to deepen our connection with one another. If you are able, please bring a vegetarian dish to share with others. For those joining us online, we invite you to also bring food to eat after the service. We will keep the room open so folks can connect with each other after the service.
We’d love to have you join us!
