The bathroom is not wheelchair accessible. There are couches\, chairs\, and floor pillows for seating. Please try to be scent-free. A retriever/labrador dog lives in the home but will not be present. A cat has lived there previously.\nCOVID: Masks are optional. Please don’t come if you have any symptoms. Air filter provided. DESCRIPTION:A DAYLONG RETREAT FOR ACTIVISTSCo-sponsored by American Friends Service CommitteeDate: Saturday\, July 26th\, 9:15am-5:30pmLocation: East Bay Meditation CenterCost: Tiered Pricing from $10-$50 \nBuddhist teacher and activist Arinna Weisman and Jewish Renewal Rabbi and activist Cat Zavis will lead this unique one-day retreat. This is a Dharma and Jewish Shabbat centered day for activists and their allies working for an end to the genocide and for justice in Palestine. We will integrate Buddhist and Jewish practices\, including mindfulness\, meditation\, prayers\, chants\, and teachings.  \nIt is a dedicated time to go within\, call upon and regenerate the beautiful heart qualities—such as radical compassion\, inner peace\, and unlimited kindness—to strengthen our capacity to hold our immense grief and sorrow\, release obstructions of the heart such as fear\, hatred or shame\, and alchemize our anger. This will strengthen us to allow continued and sustainable activism (or “sumud” as Palestinians say) as a form of sacred action for justice\, dignity\, and freedom.     \nWe do not have to do this alone!  After so many months of grieving\, disbelief\, and urgent organizing\, we can come together to resource and heal\, rebalance and strengthen\, and allow the blessing of our collective energy to root and deepen the qualities of faith\, joy\, and love. There will be time for group sharings and questions\, and answers. \nLUNCHLunch is not provided. Please bring lunch with you (there will be access to a kitchen with a refrigerator) or plan to purchase lunch at a local shop. \nACCESSIBILITYThe East Bay Meditation Center is ADA compliant.. It is also a scent free / fragrance free space. Please indicate any additional access needs on a post registration google survey you will be sent.   \nCOVID POLICYMasking (KN94/N95) is required while indoors unless you have a medical reason not to mask. We encourage you to test before attending the retreat. Please don’t attend if you have any symptoms. \nPRICING & CANCELATIONThe cost of putting on this retreat is $18/person. We have tiered pricing in order to make this retreat accessible. Registration is non-refundable.  \nIn the Buddhist tradition\, the teachings are considered priceless and therefore offered freely by the teachers. In return\, those who appreciate them and would like them to continue will be given an opportunity to support the teachers through dana (generosity) at the end of the retreat. \nFUNDRAISINGIn order to make this retreat widely accessible\, we are raising funds beyond ticket costs.
